Low cost nanotubes are here
Tuesday, 27 May 2014

Luxembourg-headquartered OCSiAl is claiming a significant breakthrough in producing its Tuball single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) in bigger, better quality batches than has been previously possible.?

The company says its technology has succeeded in dropping prices to commercially viable levels for the first time ? offering nanotubes for sale from $2,000 per kg, where the previous price was around $100,000 per kg. ?

Among other applications, a 0.05% addition of the company?s nanotubes to carbon fibre composites is capable of increasing tensile modulus and flexural strength by 35%.?
