Bobbin to preform with PvP
Wednesday, 29 October 2014

Teijin company Toho Tenax has released further details of its new process for the production of highly efficient thermoset carbon fibre composites it is calling Tenax Part via Preform (PvP).?

The technology is based on a one-step carbon fibre bobbin to preform concept, employing Tenax binder yarn, which combines carbon fibres with a binder resin.

The yarn can be processed by random fibre placement for isotropic behavior, and by aligned fibre placement in those areas where higher mechanical performance is required. Both random and aligned fibre placement can be combined to meet specific mechanical and/or cost needs.
