Satellite dishes are the latest end products being proposed for nonwovens based on recycled carbon fibre composites ? employing the same technology that is used to make various components for the BMW i Series electric vehicle programmes.

Speaking at the Composites Engineering exhibition in Birmingham, UK, on November 11th, Martino Lamacchia, sales engineer at Cannon ? an Italian-headquartered machinery builder with annual sales of ?200 million and 1,000 employees globally ? provided details of the ?2 million, 50% EU-funded Cresim project, which is developing advanced new processes for manufacturing with recycled carbon fibre (rCF).
